We Are... Dead State!, Penn State School of Theatre, Fall 2009While I was officially the Assistant Lighting Designer for We Are... Dead State!, the Penn State themed Haunted House, My main role was the Lighting/Midi Programmer. In this role, I took an Expression 3, four midi to relay circuit boards (that I assembled), a Mac Mini running QLab, 8 security cameras and two monitor screens for them and assembled the command and control systems for the Haunted House. I built the system from the ground up, networked everything and programmed the lights, pneumatics and Sound Effects to synchronize them and allow them to be controlled from a Yamaha Midi Keyboard. |
The Wiz, Penn State School of Theatre, Spring 2009As Moving Light Programmer for The Wiz, I worked with the Lighting Designer to program seven moving lights of three types, eighteen color changing lights of two types, three strobes, a fogger, a hazer, a twin-spin and well over one hundred conventional lights. The whole show was programmed on ETCs EOS Console. |
Oklahoma, Mainstage Center for the Arts, Summer 2007As Master Electrician for Oklahoma, I maintained the Rep Plot, which was also used for the children's shows in the morning shows, plus added specials as needed for Oklahoma. Since this is a small theatre company, I also programmed the show for the designer. The show included 2 StudioSpot 575s and was programmed on an ETC Express 125. |
Intern Cabaret, Surflight Theatre, Summer 2008As Programmer/Designer for the Intern Cabaret, I used the Rep Plot and programmed/ran lights for a one night talent show. There were no cues, just conventional lights and 2 I-Cues. The show was run on an Express 250 and done entirely live off the submasters and a few focus points and effects. |
The Wizard of Oz, Surflight Children's Theatre, Summer 2008As Programmer/Designer for The Wizard of Oz, I used the Rep Plot and programmed the conventional lights and 2 I-Cues to fit the show. Since this was Children's Theatre, I also ran the show and took photos at the same time. The show used the set and lights for Chicago which was the mainstage show at the time. |
Aida, Mainstage Center for the Arts, Summer 2006For Aida, I was originally Moving Light Programmer/Master Electrician. While programming, I was effectively helping the designer create the looks. He gave me the OK to consider myself his assitant. The show was done on a mostly Rep Plot with a few specials and projected backdrops. There were 2 Cyberlights and 2 StudioSpot 250s and it was programmed on an Express 125 console. |
